Con The Residency, STUDIO ILSE ha creado un espacio acogedor donde el diseño se experimenta más que exhibirse, y donde los huéspedes pueden disfrutar de un ambiente informal y cenas de cocina.

Paloma, hija de los creadores de la firma de ropa  Nice Things, es su directora de marqueting y la creadora de Paloma Wool.

Apasionada de la moda, los mercadillos y la fotografía analógica, Paloma reside en Barcelona  donde tiene su estudio  en el que realiza pequeñas producciones, no más de 50 y que se encuentra envuelta de un  ambiente totalmente artístico: mobiliario, la decoración e incluso su página web.

Situada en la costa atlántica en Camps Bay , parece una pequeña granja con su propia reserva natural privada . La casa en sí y la mayoría de las cosas en que están hechos a mano por pareja Gwen y Gawie Fagan , su hijo y tres hijas.

Hablan de una carrera de casi 70 años , el trabajo duro y el éxito , y 65 años de matrimonio. Como uno de los arquitectos más famosos de Sudáfrica , las ideas de Gawie relativos a la conexión de la arquitectura con el paisaje natural fueron revolucionarios . Con los años, Gwen jugó un papel fundamental como investigador histórico y planificador de paisaje en la práctica de Gawie . Juntos comparten el amor por el diseño de los nuevos edificios , tanto como la restauración de los antiguos.

Empezamos  el mes de septiembre y el ritmo habitual en el blog con artistas que trabajan en casa. Qué mejor manera de reanudar el blog que hacer una oda a todos ellos/ nosotros. No es tarea fácil convivir con lo familiar y lo laboral en el mismo espacio y no morir en el intento.

Porque mientras los otros habitantes de la casa ven en ella su momento de relax, para otros vemos que la jornada laboral se larga hasta altas hora y lo peor, que se rompe  durante el día con sonidos de lavadoras,secadoras y lavavajillas  e idas y venidas de colegios.

Este post esta dedicado a todos los que cada día sobrevivimos a que una casa sea un despacho.
