En pleno corazón de Bruselas, en el barrio de Ixelles, Phillippe se instaló  hace algo más de diez años, en un antiguo almacen de espejos y lo transformó en su casa.
En el momento en que sus hijos se independizaron, decidió transformarla en un pequeño hotelito.
Poco a poco , decorando este hostal, descubre su vocación; abandona la publicidad y  actualmente , se dedica  a la pintura y la decoración.
Phillippe es un loco de los brocantes y de los viajes, y así se refleja su negocio ; muebles recuperados, pátinas, trampantojos , evocaciones africanas,vajilleros pakistanís...

In the heart of Brussels , in the district of Ixelles, Phillippe was installed just over ten years, in an old mirrors warehouse and transformed it  like his home.
By the time their children became independent, decided to transform it into a small little hotel.
Gradually, decorating the hostel, he realizes his vocation, he leaves his profession ,and now, he is devoted to painting and decorating.
Phillippe is a fool of brocantes and travels, this is how it reflects his business, furniture recovered, patina, trompe l'oeil, evocations African  , Pakistani  cupboard crockery...

50 AÑOS DE LA LÁMPARA"PH5" /50 YEARS OF "PH5" LIGHT

Y es que cincuenta años hay que celebrarlos como es debido.

Más, sobretodo, si se trata de una pieza como la lámpara " PH 5" del escandinavo Poul Henningsen que ha sobrevivido al paso del tiempo.

Aparece en escena con cinco nuevos colores no editados: blanco nuez de coco, verde wasabi, azul menta ,ojo chili y negro oliva.

Yo me quedo con el negro oliva.

The 50 years of age must be celebrated properly.

Especially, if it's an object, like the light " PH 5" from the scandinavian Poul Henningsen which has survived as time goes by.

PH5 appears with five new colours: Chili Red, coconut white, mint blue, olive black or wasabi green, lacquered.

I really like olive black.

MARCHE AUX PUCES

Es el típico mercadillo en el que mi madre  no compraría nada ni aunque pudiese esterilizarse en un autoclave, pero a mi me encanta.
Situado entre el Sablón y la glamurosa Avenue Louise, el mercado abre cada día de 6-14h de la mañana.
Llueva , nieve o haga sol cada día se monta puntual en la Plaza de Jeu de Balle.
Muebles antiguos, libros de segunda mano, ropa vintage, hasta fundas para gafas! puedes encontrar a un precio comparativamente más bajo que otros mercados.
A sus alrededores: bares para tomarte un vinito antes de comer y gente interesante que ver.
Un must - visit si algún día venís a Bruselas.

This is a typical street market where my mother would not buy anything or even if it could be sterilized in an autoclave, but I love it.

Located between  the Sablon and Avenue Louise, the market is open daily from 6-14h in the morning.
Rains, snows or with sun ,every day is mounted spot in the Place de Jeu de Balle.
Old furniture, used books, vintage clothing, also covers for glasses! You can find a comparatively lower price than other markets.
A surrounding area: bars to drink a little wine before dinner and interesting people to see.
A must - visit if you ever come to Brussels.

ESPÍRITU BLANCO EN GRECIA / GREECE WHITE SPIRIT

Si todavía no os convencí con el estilo rústico- chic de la Masseria Cimino , insistiré con esta casa situada en la isla de Serifos, Grecia.
Tres colores envuelven a este lugar mágico: blanco, tierra y azul.
El blanco, ocupa  practicamente , la totalidad de la vivienda; telas en lino, mobiliario y maderas recuperadas.
Construída con piedras autóctonas, el color tierra llena  el exterior de la vivienda.
El decorado final lo protagoniza el mar, que arropa a la casa por casi sus cuatro costados.
Un detalle curioso; se han pintado trampantojos en el suelo  de cemento, inspirado en la tradición griega de marcajes a la cal en la calle.
No sé si os he convencido finalmente, pero a mi este estilo que respira verano me ha rereconvencido.

Three colors envelop this magical place: white, blue and earth.
White, occupies almost the entire housing in linen fabrics, furniture and reclaimed wood.
Built with native stone, the color fills the earth outside the house.
The final decorated as sea stars, which tucks into the house for almost four sides.
One interesting detail: they have painted trompe l'oeil in the concrete floor, inspired by the Greek tradition of the lime markings on the street.
I do not know if you have finally convinced, but to me this stylebreathes summer .

Yesterday, I had a fantastic day at the theme blogger! The garden of the muffins wrote a lovely post about me, carpe diem gave me a present and Mrs. Boho  mentioned me in his post.
It also makes some few days, Naif and fantastic wrote a post about restoring some chairs for my house.
And today , thanks to Lorena from el bureau de Lorena and isa from Ebom for their presents.
This is for all of them, and for those that every day you leave your comments, it is much, someone devote time to remember each of us, and especially thanks for the great reception it is having, this , my blog, that only a month ago I started.

Estos días que empieza a hacer un poquito de sol , en Bruselas!!

estoy pensando en ambientar la terracita o el balcón con poco presupuesto.

La mejor idea para crear una atmófera " comme il faut "es empezar con una iluminación idónea.
Para mi; siempre las velas. Aportan calidez , intimidad y romanticismo, por qué no...

Los farolillos de papel (otra vez otro antojo) los tengo pensados como indispensables este año y combinados con piezas marroquís me parece una combinación increible.Aportan una luz cálida y relajante.

These days it starts to make a little sunshine in Brussels!

I'm thinking ambientar the terrace or balcony with a little budget.
The best idea to create an atmosphere "comme il faut" is to start with suitable lighting.
For me, always candles. They bring warmth, intimacy and romance, why not ...
The paper lanterns (again another whim) I thought are indispensable this year and combined with Moroccan pieces seems a combination increible.these, contribute warm  and relaxed light.
The glass lanterns bring a fresh and Mediterranean touch.

Relax, color y cuidadosa ambientación: hotel bonifacius

Al borde de los canales, en la zona más histórica y pintoresca de Brujas, se esconde un exclusivo hotelito, con magnificas vistas.

Esta casa, parece haber parado en el tiempo su herencia medieval,como casi toda la ciudad ,con una fachada en madera en la primera parte de éste .La segunda parte del hotel da a una calle empedrada del casco viejo.
Con tan sólo tres habitaciones,ofrece impresionantes vistas sobre los edificios más emblemáticos de la ciudad .
Utilizan el color, sobretodo con telas de un violeta intenso, mezclada con otras en tonalidades neutras para reflejar la luz « lumière du Nord".
El toque final lo aporta con muebles de época decapados y encerados.
Una maravillosa terraza con vistas al canal completa esta maravillosa hostería.

At the edge of the channels, the most historic and picturesque area of Bruges lies an exclusive small hotel, with magnificent views.

This house seems to have stopped in time its medieval heritage, as most of the city, with a wood facade on the first part of it. The second part of the hotel overlooks a cobbled street of Old Town.
With just three rooms, offers breathtaking views of the most emblematic buildings of the city.
Use color, especially with a violet cloth, mixed with fabrics in neutral colors to reflect light "lumière du Nord".
The final touch brings with period furniture pickled and oiled.
A wonderful terrace overlooking the canal complete this wonderful inn.
