Nacida en Hungría, afincada en Toronto, realiza como diseñadora e ilustradora  páginas web,imágenes corporativas, packaging... y desde 2007  diseña alfombras, papel pintado y cojines.

UN APARTAMENTO DE LOS AÑOS 50 / AN APARTMENT 50

En un antiguo  convento parisino, ha ubicado  un escenógrafo su vivienda con aires "fifties ".
Sillones escandinavos adquiridos en mercadillos, colores retro-chic en las paredes, evocando a interiores de Hollywood de Palm Springs, proyectores de fotógrafo utilizado para plamar a las "stars"como Marilyn Monroe o un  maravillloso biombo de Eileen Gray.
Un baño turquesa, bañada de este color hasta la grifería, con un espejo veneciano, evoca el lujo combinado con  un mosaico negro brillante.

Una puesta en escena exquisitamente  suntuosa.

In an old Parisian monastery,this set designer has placed his house with a designer air "fifties."
Scandinavian chairs purchased at flea markets, retro-chic colors on the walls, evoking interiors Hollywood Palm Springs, photographer projectors used for Plame to the "stars" like Marilyn Monroe or a wondrous screen by Eileen Gray.
A turquoise bathroom, bathed in this color to the faucet, with a Venetian mirror, evokes the luxury combined with a glossy black mosaic.

MESA DE NOCHE PATINADA / PATINA BEDSIDE TABLE

El mismo día que compré la cómoda que os enseñé el otro día, compré esta mesita de noche de final del S.XVII, pensando en algo  para dar un toque romántico a la habitación de las niñas.

La verdad, es que , al principio, al comprar algo tan antiguo, dudé bastante, sobretodo porque el propósito era pintarla y patinarla, pero al final me decidí.

1.Limpié con un poco de agua caliente y una  lanilla toda la madera.

2.La sequé con un secador.

3.Pinte con una pintura plástica  cruda y le añadí unos restos de pintura fucsia que tenía .

4.La lijé un poquito los cantos para dar el aspecto envejecido.

5.Le dí betún de judea mezclado con trementina.

6.Finalmente le dí una capa de protección con cera.

Ahora sólo falta ponerla en su sitio en cuanto nos mudemos.

The same day I bought the dresser that I showed you the other day, I bought this bedside table end of the seventeenth century, thinking of something to give a romantic touch to the room of girls.

The truth is that, at the beginning, I was afraid to buy something so old, especially because the purpose was paint it  and skating, but in the end I decided.

1.I Clean it with a little hot water and a nap all the wood.
2.I dried it with a dryer.
3.I painted a crude acrylic paint and added some leftover paint was fuchsia.
4.I sanded the edges slightly to give the aged look.
5.I  gave bitumen mixed with turpentine.
6.Finaly I gave it a layer of protective wax.

Now I have to put in their place as we move.

COCINAS CON ENCANTO/ KITCHENs WITH CHARM

              

                               

Siempre quiero imaginar la casa que me haría; si tuviese una casita en el campo, o en la playa, o en la montaña, e, igual que  no tengo claro dónde  la tendría, porque todo me gusta, me pasa lo mismo con la cocina que pondría, porque muchos estilos me apasionan.Blancas en el caso de la playa, más rústicas en el campo o con cocina de leña en la montaña...

Con cortinillas en vez de puertas, o con muebles patinados.

Menos mal que no tengo casa de vacaciones, porque sino el dilema no me dejaría dormir y bastante tengo con Olivia.

I always want to imagine the house would make me, if I had a house in the country, or on the beach, or in the mountains, and, like I have no clear where I would have it, because everything I like, I feel the same with the kitchen which would, because I am passionate about many styles.

White in the case of the beach, more rustic in the field or wood stove in the mountains ...
With curtains instead of doors, or polished furniture.
Luckily I have no vacation home, because otherwise the dilemma would not let me sleep and I have enough with Olivia.

LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN

Uno de los primeros sitios que descubrí al llegar a Bruselas, fue este lugar.

Me encantó su aire  provenzal; sus maderas naturales, sus colores claros , su iluminación casi natural y , sobretodo , lo que lo distingue de otras cafeterías: sus mesas alargadas, enormes  en las que puedes compartir un desayuno, almuerzo o  merienda.

Sus panes, de todo tipo, al igual que sus desayunos, que pueden hacerse eternos, si tienes tiempo, probando mermeladas, croissants, magdalenas, chocolates.

Un lugar para relajarse , charlar, y sobretodo, guarecerse de la lluvia y el frío de esta ciudad,  con algo calentito.

One of the first sites I discovered upon arrival in Brussels, was this place.

I loved its air of  Provence, their natural woods, their colors,their almost natural lighting and, above all, what sets it apart from other coffee shops:their long tables, huge where you can share a breakfast, brunch or lunch .


His breads, all kinds, like their breakfast, which may be eternal, if you have time, tasting jams, croissants, muffins, chocolates.
A place to relax, chat, and above all, to shelter from the rainy and cold weather  of this city with something warm.

AURÉLIE MATHIGOT

Las creaciones de la  artista plástica  AURÉLIE MATHIGOT son pura poesía.

Recubre objetos con lana, perlas y lentejuelas.

Desde una lámpara a una tetera,o cuadros , fotografías bordadas o una colcha de patchwork con un vestido  en seda, incrustado , como si de un descuido se tratase.

Consagrada al textil, aprende y crea en común con gente de otros países como Brasil o Méjico.

Su propia casa es puro estilo Mathigot: sofás recubiertos de tejidos , cojines creados por ella...

Aurélie  adora las antigüedades y siembra su casa con los objetos que encuentra , como retapizando a su manera el mobiliario (pedazos de tela, crochet,...).
Cada objeto que crea es personal y único "como si cada rincón explicará una pequeña historia".

Aurélie loves  antiques and plants at her home objects that she find , as his way reupholstering furniture (pieces of cloth, crochet ,...).
Each object she creates is personal and unique "as if every corner explain a  little story."

CÓMO RESTAURÉ UNA CÓMODA

Justo antes de empezar el blog, compré esta cómoda en un brocante , aquí en Bruselas.

Buscaba algo recargado, como mesita de noche , ya que la idea es conseguir un dormitorio vintage boudoir ,así que me decidí por ésta.

Le eliminé el poco barniz que le quedaba, lijando y con un poco de decapante.
Rellené toda con polvo de piedra pómez mezclado con alcohol, para facilitar el barnizado posterior.

Restauré alguna parte de las cajoneras que estaban levantadas y otras que estaban rotas con cola y aplicando calor con una cala de hierro.
Apliqué barniz astra mezclado con alcohol y de vez en cuando , nutriendo la madera con aceite de lino.
Ahora me toca preparar el cabezal de la cama , en cuanto lo tenga, aquí, lo presentaré en sociedad.

Just before starting the blog, I bought this drawers in a brocante, here in Brussels. Looking for something heavy, like a bedside table, because the idea is to get a vintage boudoir bedroom, so I decided on it.

I removed the little varnish remaining, sanding and a bit of scrape.

I applied varnish Astra mixed with alcohol and from time to time, feeding the wood with linseed oil.
